Get out your snorkel... Vermont is getting dumped on!

Last Saturday Vermonters felt a little more comfortable about this winter season after a snowstorm sat down on the Green Mountains.  A couple of local amateur weather enthusiasts and Vermont skiers started making their predictions raising eyebrows with the totals they were throwing out there.  The Single Chair Weather Blog and Famous Internet Skiers, two of our favorites, take a seriously in depth approach to provide us with up-to-date snow hype.  Stay informed with the most current forecasts by checking out their blogs and while you are there get ready for the next front moving in!  It looks like another 6-12" are being predicted for area Vermont mountains tomorrow.  And if that isn't enough to get you out, check out the below pics from this weekend.

PBS: Cave People of the Himalaya... showcases The North Face!

If you have not already seen it, take a peek at the video below.  Climbers are always looking for new opportunities and ways of reinventing their sport.  Now, Anthropologists and archeologists are helping them out with their growing need for experienced slab junkies to scale up and bring a tremendous amount of information about an ancient civilizations.  One group in particular, is trying to find out more information on cave dwellers of the Himalayas.  Experienced climber, Pete Athens, leads the assault and provides a unique perspective to a previously unknown community.

Bluebird days in Vermont have finally come!

Nevermind that it is zero degrees at the top, the bluebird skies have provided a respite from cloudy weather here in Vermont and KLmountainshop.com is relishing the sunshine.  While the snow has finally come, and winter is in full effect, getting the gear tuned, blood flowing, and shreding last nights blower has gotten us amped and here are a couple of pics to get you excited as well...

See if you can figure out where our guys found the pow, but, keep it to yourself.  We'll see you there.  Although we can't give you that info, we can tell you that Kevin the Klondike, pictured above, is rockin' the The North Face Men's Elbert Jacket (AWRM) and The North Face Men's Slasher Cargo Pant (ATJS).  The Tuscan Sam, Double Dish Pan, Main Man, with the Master Plan Dan threw on the The North Face Men's Gonzo Jacket (ATGU) with the The North Face Free Thinker Pant (ATFU).  Although, they don't need it to improve their skiing fundamentals, their style was exponentially better!  Good looks Gentleman.

Klmountainshop.com would like to congratulate Shaun White with his filthy fifth victory in the Super Pipe at the Winter X Games.  Last night, he outperformed the field leading to a final victory lap for all to lay witness to.  He could have played it safe, yet he went larger than ever piecing together a flawless, new frontside double cork 1260 and a double McTwist 1260.  Looking like David Lee Roth, Shaun wore some zerbra print skinny pants and what appeared to be the Burton Blah Blah Blah Jacket.  And although he had a bum ankle he did his best Kerry Strug impression and pulled out one of the biggest runs in Winter X Games history and the first ever perfect score of 100.  Congratulations!

Congrats to British adventurer Felicity Aston became the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica on Monday!

On Monday, Flelicity Aston finished her 59 day expedition, making her the first female to solo ski accross Antarctica.  If you enjoy skiing alone in the woods for 24 hours, try traveling 1084 miles in sub-zero temperatures for 1416 straight hours!  Having only two supply drops to aid her, she managed to fight through butane lighter malfunctions, frozen water bottles, and the difficulties with persevering in brutally cold adverse weather conditions.  Click the below link to read the whole story provided by USA TODAY.
